Made to Memphis safely to Brady's warm embrace.

w00t!

Roughly 200 miles north of Memphis, eating dinner. Both boys had KFC on the brain for the past 4 hours.
Stopped at the HyVee in Waterloo, IA for some lunch provisions. Gassin' up then back to the road!
We have hit the road!! The car made a noise as we pulled out that it never has before, but not alarmed.

State Trip Eve

The boys and I embark upon 2010's state trip bright and early tomorrow morning! We're headed to Tennessee, and will be using Memphis as our homebase, primarily because my lil' brother lives there.

(Hi Brady! Leave comment every now and then, stalker.)

Anyway, we have barely enough of a plan for it to qualify as a plan, but we intend to see Graceland, a psychic (yeah, the one on Beale street I visited last time I was there, but this time with the boys too!), and then maybe do a day or overnight trip to Nashville.

The rest? We'll go where our whims (and Uncle Brady) take us.

Stay tuned for updates here and FB/Twitter if'n you're interested in what we're up to.

Song of the Day
Mason Jennings - Lonely Road

Mason Jennings. I think I've probably gushed about him before, and if I haven't, I have been negligent in my blogging.

Oh wait, that's right! I've been totally negligent in my blogging since like October of 2008.

Anyway... this is hands-down my favorite song on the new album right now, and I first heard it LIVE at First Ave.

That was a great night.

Dig the guitar riff. Bling, blingyding ding!

Song of the Day
Percy Faith - Theme From a Summer Place

Why? Because I like cheese, and there's something romantic about oldies of this variety.

Anybody remember Town & Country Mall in Minot? This song takes me there, circa 1970-something.
