Lunched in Omaha, where we totally stumbled on a little nugget from my childhood. Anyone remember King's Food Host? Cheese Frenchies?
Well, I had a Cheese Frenchies at a
Don & Millies in Omaha today. I remembered the Frenchie right away, but I only vaguely remembered the word "King" in the name of the restaurant we used to go to for them in Minot, ND when I was a wee chillun.
Mom just happened to call us while we were sitting there, and Don & Millie's had pictures of old King's Food Hosts on their walls, so I was able to put two and two together. Here's a pic of a King's they had on their wall, indeed that's what the sign looked like. I remember lots of orange.
